You Can Love Jesus and Still Be Tired
I think there is a kind of tired that sleep doesn’t fix. You know the one. You’re functioning. You’re answering texts. You’re going to work. You’re showing up at church. You’re taking care of people. You’re laughing when something is funny. You’re doing everything you’re supposed to do. From the outside, you probably look completely fine. But somewhere underneath all of that… you’re tired. Not necessarily tired of God. Not tired of believing. Not even tired of the life He’s given you. You’re just tired from carrying so much for so long. And sometimes, when you’re a Christian, you can feel guilty admitting that. Because aren’t we supposed to have joy? Aren’t we supposed to trust God? Aren’t we supposed to have peace? Shouldn’t strong faith make us stronger than this? I want to tell you something I think more Christians need permission to hear: You can deeply love Jesus and still be tired.
